Should I attach a cover letter along with my online application?

If I was mailing in my application/resume I would most definitely have a cover letter. But since it’s an online application I’m trying to decide whether or not they’ll be annoyed by having 2 attachments to download?

The recruiter doesnt want to read the cover letter will help you stand out and if the cover letter will help you stand out from the recruiter doesnt want to read the recruiter.
